Physiotherapy · Mooloolaba & Nambour

The Sunshine Coast physiotherapist for people who want their life back.

Injured shoulder, dodgy knee, a back that ended your season early. Our physios diagnose what's actually wrong, treat it with their hands where that helps, and rebuild you with exercise that's measured against real goals: your sport, your job, your grandkids.

Who we are

Absolute Health's physio team, closer than you think.

We're the physiotherapy arm of Absolute Health, working out of two clinics: Smith Street in Mooloolaba for the coastal strip, and Howard Street in Nambour for the hinterland. Wherever you book, you get the same team, the same standards and one shared patient file.

What makes the setup unusual is who's down the corridor. Chiropractors work in both clinics alongside us, so when a stubborn problem needs a second set of hands or a different approach, that conversation happens over a treatment table instead of a referral letter.

What we do

Diagnose properly. Treat what you find. Rebuild what it broke.

Assessment & diagnosis

Every course of treatment starts with working out what the problem is. Movement testing, strength and stability checks, and a history taken slowly enough to hear the detail that matters. You leave the first visit knowing the diagnosis and the plan.

What a first visit looks like →

Hands-on treatment

Joint mobilisation, soft-tissue work and dry needling, used where the evidence and your presentation support them. Hands-on care settles pain and buys a window; what we do with that window is what gets you better.

Our hands-on toolkit →

Exercise-led rehab

The engine of physiotherapy. Progressive, specific loading that takes a healing tissue from sore to strong, tracked against numbers so you can see the trend. Programs fit around real lives; nobody gets a 45-minute daily routine they'll quietly abandon.

How rehab progresses →

What we treat

Bodies that live like Sunshine Coast bodies

Rotator cuffs worn by decades of paddling. Knees that gave out on the netball court at Kawana. Backs that load trailers all week and surf all weekend. Ankles rolled on a trail run up Buderim. We see the region's injuries every day, and most of them follow patterns we know well.

Sport

Sports injuries

From acute sprains and strains to the overuse injuries that build across a season. Treatment plus a graded return, so you come back once, not repeatedly.

After surgery

Post-op rehab

Knee reconstructions, shoulder repairs, joint replacements. We follow your surgeon's protocol and drive the strength work that decides how good the result feels in a year.

Every week

Back & neck pain

Assessed properly, treated actively. Most spinal pain does best with early movement and graded loading, and we'll coach you through exactly that.

About the Nambour clinic

Why people finish their rehab here

Progress you can measure, not just feel.

Rehab fails when it drifts. Ours doesn't drift, because every plan has numbers attached and every review checks them.

Quick answers

Before you book

Do I need a referral to see a physio?

No. Physiotherapists are primary practitioners, so you can book straight in. Referrals only enter the picture for DVA or workers' compensation claims.

What should I wear to a physio appointment?

Clothes that let us see and move the area. Shorts for anything hip, knee or ankle; a singlet or loose tee for shoulders and necks. Turning up in work clothes is fine, and we keep shorts at the clinic if you forget.

Will I get exercises at the first visit?

Almost always, and usually only two or three. Early on, precision beats volume. The program grows as you do.

Can I claim through my private health fund?

Yes, if your extras cover includes physiotherapy. Both clinics have HICAPS terminals, so the rebate is processed on the spot and you just pay the gap.
